dear Ramona
I listen so often to your version of "round midnight" and "sonfg for my father" and like the interpretation of you and your musicians so much! If you ever will have a concert somewhere here in Europe, especially here in the South of Germany, please, let me know. I really would try come to listen to you live. I'm an amateur vocalist, and love to sing jazz and blues with other musicians, but just for pleasure...
and I'm so glad to have found you on youtube, so I can learn a tiny little bit for my own singing, just listen to you...good luck and fortune for you...warm regards. Alegría

Keep it pushing sing until you have nothing.
Ramona here is one of my poems:
Silent screams
The city is full of people and the
Sound loses it’s volume in space…
I walk the city streets and I’m in pain
…but there is no blood; no sign of bruises
My cries are silent… I scream out to the high heavens and
no-one can hear me
How do I turn up the volume?
All the sound is inverted into my soul
It’s the sound of my own cries that batter’s me
My tears are like hot wax on my skin
The sound of my own cries bludgeons me
My suffering is within me
How do I settle my soul?
How do I stop the pain?
How???
I give my silent cries to one who can hear the doves cry…
I give my cries to one who cares; to one who will wipe all my tears away

Dear Ramona,
You are the voice from heaven that opened my eyes and ears to the world of jazz. I have played "Everything Old is New Again" hundreds of times since I got it ten years ago. From songs of new love and lust to broken hearted blues, that CD always fits my mood. Since the mid 90s, chilling at Rusty's Jazz Cafe in Toledo, I have been hooked.
Thanks for all the great shows. I have followed you from Rustys to the Toledo Museum of Art to the Toledo Botanical Gardens. When I see you perform, I like to request a song. Funny thing is, at TBG I requested "When Did You Leave Heaven" and you didn't bring it. Damn. I should of asked for "Loverman". Now I'll have to check you out at the Rouge.
As an art teacher, I have inspired my students to listen to jazz with an open mind. Jazz speaks to you. If you listen, jazz heals you. A couple years ago, when I went through chemotherapy, jazz was my strength, my joy, and my salvation.
Ramona, thank you again for putting your all into your performances and keeping jazz alive in Toledo. I wish you the best on your new CD and look forward to you someday opening your own jazz club.
Best wishes,
Allison

Thanks for doing you!! Your music is amazing and your personality is definitely an asset to life. As I listened to you at the Botanical Gardens I was captured by your sulty soulful jazz sound; as I listened to you share life with the girls at the Inner Girl mentoring session, I was captured by your oppulent heart. Thank you again. I look forward to the next time we meet. See you soon!

Ms. Collins! I was sitting in my room a few minutes ago working on a song and you ran across my mind. I recently got a new phone and lost my address book, so I thought I'd try searching for your contact info on google, and here I've arrived at this amazing website of yours!..
but just a small update: I'm here studying at NYU in the Clive Davis Department of Recorded Music and having the time of my life!
I just wanted to let you know how grateful I am to have worked with you for Act-So and the Cotillion Talent Show. You inspired me in so many ways and I just wanted to say thank you.
I'll be home for the summer in a few weeks, so hopefully I'll get a chance to see you (maybe even performing) before I leave again for the fall semester.
Love always,
Adriele
p.s. - your music is amazing =)

JAZZ DIVA,
It was great talking with you this a.m. I immediately sat down at the computer...IT’S-ALL-ABOUT-YOUR-WEBSITE! The photos--nice touch, (my fav's: "Just Rollin' Along”, “Singin' At Murphy's Place”, & all three of the “Luettke Studio Shots”; (your eyes are evermore probing). You know--I got stuck, (really stuck), navigating your "MUSIC PAGE”. Diva, it should come with a WARNING, a snifter of brandy, a-hand-towel-and-a-smoke! It's like quicksand; I was all-into-it…then got a phone call; late for my appointment…I'll return, (on a stormy day or a free evening)…to "indulge".
Nate
p.s. I guess, (to be perfectly honest), I am partially to blame for my lateness…
I am deffinately interested in collaborating on the project you mentioned--Gotta run--holla!!!
